Die brasilianische Death Metal Supergroup feat. Ex-Members von SEPULTURA signen bei Alma Mater Records und kündigen ihr neues Album „Antichrist Reborn“ für April an!
Gitarrist Jairo „Tormentor“ Guedz – ehemaliges Mitglied der Originalbesetzung von SEPULTURA und Autor und Co-Autor von Klassikern wie Bestial Devastation und Morbid Visions – ist neben Bassist/Sänger Alex Kafer (Enterro, Explicit Hate, ex-Necromancer), Schlagzeuger Alexandre Oliveira (Southern Blacklist, Raising Conviction) und Gitarrist Marcelo Vasco (Patria, Mysteriis und gefeierter Grafiker für Slayer, Kreator, Machine Head, Soulfly und Hatebreed) hat die brasilianische Death-Metal-Supergroup THE TROOPS OF DOOM einen Vertrag mit Alma Mater Records unterzeichnet, dem portugiesischen Powerhouse-Label von MOONSPELLs Fernando Ribeiro!
THE TROOPS OF DOOM besinnen sich auf die Essenz des Death Metal der 80er Jahre und erforschen einen primitiveren Sound, der den Hörer in diese Ära zurückversetzt, dabei aber frisch, unverfälscht und brutal heavy bleibt. Nach ihren von der Kritik gefeierten EPs The Rise Of Heresy (2020) und The Absence of Light (2021), die sowohl von der internationalen Musikpresse als auch von den Fans gelobt wurden, bereitet sich die Band nun endlich auf die Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Longplayers mit dem Titel Antichrist Reborn vor. Antichrist Reborn wird als CD-Digipack und Kassette am 15. April 2022 über Alma Mater und digital über Blood Blast Distribution veröffentlicht.
Jairo Guedz erzählt:
„We are very happy that we are finally about to release our debut full-length album. We already have it composed basically since 2020 but due to the pandemic we ended up deciding to postpone its release. Now with most people vaccinated and restrictions easing, we expect 2022 to be a good year for the return of shows and touring. Fingers crossed! We’re confident about it and can’t wait to hit the road. The suggestive title of the album “Antichrist Reborn” has a strong connection with the song “Antichrist”, from my time at Sepultura back in the days, and of course, because our sound, that’s a rescue of that Death Metal aura from the 80s. By the way, the release date will be the Holy Friday, April 15th!“
