Die Death-Doom Meister von 1914 kehren mit neuem Album „Where Fear And Weapons Meet“ zurück und präsentieren ihren neuen Song „…And A Cross Now Marks His Place“ feat. Nick Holmes!
Die ukrainischen WWI-Experten 1914 reflektieren weiterhin die grausamen Geschichten des Ersten Weltkriegs, das Schicksal der Soldaten, ihren Tod, ihre Angst und ihre Heldentaten, die niemals vergessen werden sollen, und veröffentlichen ihr neues Werk Where Fear and Weapons Meet, das am 22. Oktober 2021 über Napalm Records erscheint.
Die elf Tracks purer historischer Härte folgen auf das zweite Album der Band, The Blind Leading the Blind (2018), und das Debüt, Eschatology of War (2015), die beide von Kritikern hochgelobt wurden, und schaffen eine ausgefeilte Vielfalt an massiv brutalem Blackened Death Metal, akzentuiert durch dramatische und realistische Soundlandschaften und beunruhigende Melodien, gewürzt mit dem Ansatz von Sludge und Doom!
Bereits die erste Single „…And a Cross Now Marks His Place“ stellt ein absolutes Highlight dar, denn an diesem stampfenden Ausbruch ist kein Geringerer als Paradise Lost-Ikone Nick Holmes beteiligt, dessen durchdringende Stimme mit 1914s Mastermind Hptm. “Where Fear and Weapons Meet continues the theme we started on The Blind Leading the Blind – with one major difference: these are the stories about hope where most of our characters are staying alive, becoming heroes, and returning back to their homes. Yes, it is still about fear, death, and senselessness of war, but the hope is the only thing the soldier holds on to. And a good portion of luck as well. Even the album cover reflects this – the man lays wounded, bleeding in the trench, reaching his hand to Death begging for relieve, and Death declines to take him. He deserves to live.
