Die Platin-Rockband P.O.D. – Sonny Sandoval [Gesang], Marcos Curiel [Gitarre] und Traa Daniels [Bass] – hat ihr 11. Album „Veritas“ angekündigt. Es wird am 3. Mai über Mascot Records erscheinen.
Letzten Herbst hat die P.O.D. das Video zu „Drop“ veröffentlicht, in dem LAMB OF GOD-Sänger Randy Blythe einen bösartigen Gastauftritt hat. Das Video wurde in der Presse von Metal Injection, Consequence, Revolver, Idioteq, The Pit, Yahoo! und Knotfest gelobt. Es folgte das Video zur ebenso eruptiven Single „Afraid To Die“, in dem Jinjer-Sängerin Tatiana Shmayluk zu sehen ist. Beide Tracks zusammen haben bereits 6 Millionen Aufrufe erreicht.
Jetzt hat die Band das Video zu „I Won’t Bow Down“ veröffentlicht, ein weiterer Banger, der Veritas weiter vorstellt.
Curiel erzählt:

Sandoval ergänzt:

There are some songs on this record that are so different from one another, but still have that P.O.D. So Cal flavor.“

P.O.D. sind seit mehr als 30 Jahren eine Band – und zwar eine sehr lebendige. Aber wenn man die Mitglieder fragt, was sie nach all dieser Zeit immer noch inspiriert, werden sie einem sagen, dass sie immer noch so tun, als seien sie ewige Underdogs. Ja, mit jedem neuen Album, das sie veröffentlichen, mit jeder Show, die sie spielen, haben diese musikalischen Lebenskünstler immer noch das Gefühl, dass sie etwas zu beweisen haben. „Wir sind immer noch hier und machen immer noch die beste Musik, die wir je gemacht haben“, sagt Curiel. „Wenn es um Herz, Härte und Seele geht, ist P.O.D. deine Band“. Sandoval fügt hinzu: „Wir beweisen immer noch, wer wir sind – wir haben immer noch diese Punk-Rock-Mentalität.“
