Bekanntlich hat sich ICED EARTH Fronter Jon Schaffer am Sturm am Kapitol in den Staaten beteiligt. Daraufhin wurde öffentlich nach ihm gefahndet. Nach seiner Stellung beim FBI wurde Schaffer in U-Haft genommen, wo er laut Richter nun auch bis zur Anhörung weiterhin bleiben wird.

 

Einstweilen haben die restlichen ICED EARTH Mitglieder folgendes Statement veröffentlicht:

“Some of you have been concerned by our silence, which we understand. We needed some time to properly process the information and find out some facts before we made a statement. First and foremost we absolutely DO NOT condone nor do we support riots or the acts of violence that the rioters were involved in on January 6th at the US Capitol building. We hope that all those involved that day are brought to justice to be investigated and answer for their actions.“ICED EARTH

 

Mittlerweile haben Sänger Stu Block (Ex-INTO ETERNITY), Gitarrist Jake Dryer (WITHERFALL) und Bassist Luke Appleton (ABSOLVA) ihren Ausstieg bekannt gegeben. Somit sind Schaffer und Drummer Brent Smedley die letzten verbliebenen Mitglieder und machen das für Fürhjahr angekündigte 13. Album für sehr unwahrscheinlich.

Auch BLIND GUARIDAN FRONTER Hansi Kürsch hat bereits seine Zusammenarbeit mit Schaffer bei DEMONS & WIZARDS offiziell gekündigt.
