Die Metalcore Veteranen DARKEST HOUR, aus Washington, D.C. – Mike Schleibaum [Gitarre], John Henry [Gesang], Aaron Deal [Bass], Travis Orbin [Schlagzeug] und Nico Santora [Gitarre] – haben ihr zehntes Album „Perpetual | Terminal“ für den 23. Februar über MNRK Heavy angekündigt.

„This is a whole Darkest Hour album in one song. It felt like the perfect album opener, eventually became the title track, and therefore is the perfect place to start as we present this new album to the world. Lyrically, it touches on all of the themes of the record — an album centered around the duality of survival and rebirth. Or, you could just say, some new music from old friends who just won’t ever give up.“

DARKEST HOUR haben der Zeit, den Trends und den Gezeiten des Wandels getrotzt und sind fast drei Jahrzehnte nach ihrer Gründung stärker als je zuvor. Ihr einzigartiger Klangstil vereint Death Metal, Thrash-Raserei, Hardcore-Punk-Attitüde und melodischen Pathos.
„The record’s theme centers around the duality of survival while embracing rebirth,'“ says Schleibaum. „We keep killing parts of ourselves to make new parts and survive. The story of the record is the story of the band. We’re still here, and we’re giving the world a body of work that’s representative of our music today. We’ve realized relationships, tours, good times, everything that seems to give life meaning, is terminal — and will inevitably end. Nevertheless, we’re 46-year-old dudes who love this music enough to put up with the trials and tribulations of being artists in a touring band.“
DARKEST HOUR haben sich 1995 aus ihrerer hemischen Region herausgekämpft und in den darauffolgenden Jahren zig Millionen von Streams generiert und bauten sich im Stillen eine eingefleischte Fangemeinde auf. Sie bereisten den ganzen Globus, spielten Tausende von Konzerten und waren auf allen Kontinenten außer der Antarktis zu Gast. Auf ihrem Weg erreichten sie fünf Top-3-Debüts in den Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart. Das 2017er Album Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora markierte die dritte Nummer-1-Platzierung in den Heatseekers-Charts und stürmte die Top 10 der Top-Vinyl-Album-Charts. MetalSucks bewertete das Album mit der seltenen Bestnote 5 von 5″ und bezeichnete es als das beste Album, das Darkest Hour je gemacht haben“. New Noise bezeichnete es als „eines der besten des Jahres 2017“, und Metal Hammer nannte es „eine monumentale Rückkehr“.
