Die Uhr tickt: Am 10. Februar veröffentlichen die schwedischen Modern-Metal-Visionäre IN FLAMES ihr vierzehntes Studioalbum Foregone – das neue Meisterwerk einer Band, deren Kunstfertigkeit und Einfluss auf den modernen Metal unbestreitbar ist. Nun gibt es die neue Single „Meet Your Maker“!
Heute veröffentlichen IN FLAMES die fünfte Single aus Foregone: „Meet Your Maker“ ist ein pulsierender Track mit hypnotisierender Kraft und wütender Wut. Wie ein roher Nerv spricht der Song von der Verzweiflung und Frustration, die durch die chaotische Dystopie der post-pandemischen Gesellschaft hervorgerufen wird.
Frontmann Anders Fridén erklärt:
„When we started to write for Foregone, Meet Your Maker became the song that set the tone in terms of what we were aiming for sonically as well as thematically. You’ll see it’s everything you’ve come to expect from In flames and some. Enjoy and see you on the road in 2023!“

Nach der erfolgreichen Rückkehr ihres eigenen Festivals, dem Dalhalla Brinner, kündigten IN FLAMES kürzlich eine erweiterte Ausgabe der Veranstaltung für das nächste Jahr an: Das Dalhalla Brinner 2023 wird am 25. und 26. August in Dalhalla, Schweden, stattfinden. Neben der gastgebenden Band wird das Lineup spezielle Gäste enthalten, die bald bekannt gegeben werden.
„I thought that everything we’ve been through these past few years would be a reminder that life is precious, and that time is not on our side,“ offers Fridén. „Unfortunately, I feel that we’ve woken up in a world that’s more hostile and bleak than ever before. The clock is ticking and the countdown has begun…“
